Agree Gness and ladybirder, think he does these programmes really well. There's a certain 'oldfashionedness' about them, in that they're straightforward and informative, when so many programmes nowadays are cynical, or tongue-in-cheek, or ' a sideways look at'. I'd love to know how many crew travel with him, though!
Love the way he swans into hotels for the night carrying only his guidebook...I'd like to know the logistics of the programme...like, who manhandles all the suitcases and how many lackeys travel with him to make the whole series.
