....I can't get to grips with my new phone..... :-(

I managed, with great joy, to set the alarm for five thirty all week and that worked fine....well the two people I called when I was trying to turn it off won't agree....but never mind....

Last night I arrived home exhausted and more than a little emotional......had a glass of wine.... well it'd been a dry week......and, making sure the phone was off, I snuggled down to sleep looking forward to a well earned lie in.....

And at five forty five the blasted phone alarm started ringing downstairs!

I had named the phone Rose......because it was given to me second hand.......

Rose is now under all the sofa cushions and I'm looking for a new name for her.......probably none of the names I was calling her as I stumbled downstairs at five forty five!.....

I'm off - being gremlined...
many years ago before mobile phones or alarm clocks a chap used to go round tapping on bedroom windows with a pole to wake the occupants up, i've always wondered who got him up?

Outsmarted by a smartphone, lol ☺☺☺

That's a pain, Shoota......tisn't when we start chatting is it?.. ;-)

Well I'd never have got that job, Ael.....even with a phone.....or I'd put the pole through a window..... :-(

If I'd know there was a Bruce inside the phone to help me, Slack.......I'd be a bit smarter by now......but we'll get there.......☺
I too kept a phone for making calls gness, my gran part of family find it hilarious, they're parents, my siblings are older than me and so "with it" :(

Just had a message on the new phone, Ducksie......to say there is a message on the old phone that I need to answer......where is my old phone?......
Then had an email from the Eisteddfod organiser to say she has my old phone in her bag of music sheets for shredding......I put my old phone in the wrong bag......

Perhaps I should just go back to letter writing....... :-(
You'd lose your pen....
Is the story about the dog attack true? Was it one of those killer dogs - Jack Russells or Yorkshire Wolfhounds?

Pigeon post, Shoota?.....

Very true, Wolf......the adjudicator was booked into B&B just outside my town....lord knows why....back of beyond.....
She arrived by train, did her stuff and then I had to drop her off.... then Dave at his house...
We drove into the back yard of the B&B and were "greeted" by what I'm told is a Border Terrier....I'm not a dog person....neither is the adjudicator......Dave got out to try to calm the dog (he likes dogs) so we followed and it went for us....that's when we performed our "Circle with canvas bags" dance......it was a really nasty dog......not playful....nasty.....

Took an age for the owner to come out to greet us.....we thought she'd control the dog but she didn't seem to be bothered.....

For the rest of my taxi duties I stayed in the car.... x
Border terriers are cute but they are still terriers/terrors.

A friend's father's cat was lying snoozing on his doormat when a Border Terrier chased it into the house. It killed the cat in front of the old man, shaking it to death. The dog got put down.

Most dogs will chase anything that moves and that includes moggies. Usually the cat gets away. This cat was old and she was sleeping so never stood a chance.

I had a dog who used to chase moped and motorbikes. He 'caught' a bicycle once and rugby-tackled a runner/jogger and sat on the guy's chest as he lay on the ground. At nine stone he was probably a bit heavy to be a lap(chest) dog.
