Smart Meters.
26 Answers
Just watched Watchdog where they were featuring smart meters.
Very unsettling the number of fires that have been caused by them.
They mentioned there was a target to get everyone on a smart meter, I can't remember the date.
Will we be forced to have one. I would rather not have one due to the uncertainty of the safety of them.

There are several mobile phone networks and different power companies use different ones. Also the various computer systems that collect the data are not compatible.
We are talking about two things here;
Smart meters
And
Smart monitors.
I had smart meters presinstalled when we moved into our new build.
Complete waste of time and money.
The gas meter is not compatible with British Gas and they can't access the meter. The smart monitor also can't access the smart gas meter.
The smart electric meter can be accessed remotely by British gas , but the smart monitor is not compatible with our solar panels.
So all in in all ...Useless lol
British Gas insisted on sending a man to install the smart monitor.
I pleaded I could do it myself ...but nope ...they sent a man in a van.
Oh it can't connect with your smart gas meter it's not compatible (smart meters were installed when bliss was built in March 2017).
Ok so the electric read out on monitor shows I was using 2kw with only fridge freezer going. Ah says man from BG you have solar panels and it don't work with them ....errr ok so all the monitor does is show me the time lol
