Expensive Parcel To Denmark

What’s the best (most secure) way of sending a package containing some valuable items to Denmark?

Once or twice in the past few decades I’ve had things go missing - is there any reliable courier?

Do Customs get involved? I have an inkling that’s where my ‘odd things’ like CDs back in the 80s went astray, although I can’t know for sure.

As a member of the EU there is no need to involve customs.So you don't need to advertise what is in the parcel by putting a customs sticker on the parcel.

I book through parcel2go.com to send stuff, you can then choose from the various suppliers depending on how you want to do it.

Yes, I like parcel2go - good range of prices and speeds... but I'm still wary of putting this lot in a package and entrusting it to the system.

Might have to wait till someone is going to Copenhagen, and get them to take it in their luggage - just so no-one thinks its contraband, it's family medals, probably with a face value of a couple of grand, but hard to insure and impossible to replace.

So you can understand the worrying!

Why not look at the large companies and see what they charge including insurances - then look at what a flight for you costs in and out it may work out cheaper.

if yo lived near an airport in the uk and someone met you at copenhagen, you could take them yourself for less than £30 returning the same day

Yes, going to Copenhagen in person wouldn't be much dearer (if any) than the parcel (it's a fair weight with the medal case as well), so you might well be right. I'll give it serious thought!
