I have just prepared my Christmas Day main course ready to put in the freezer.

However, I've just discovered there is no room in the freezer for it?!

There is going to be some seriously culling and weird eating going on over the next day or two.

What schoolgirl/boy errors have you made in your Christmas preparations?

Not me but once foiled up my mum cooked a huge turkey upside down by mistake. Turned out with the proverbial saggy breast! Or is it soggy?
forgetting to buy the turkey.....
mum's was buying one that was on the turn, it didn't get eaten eventually.

A friend once posted on Facebook that they had taken the Christmas turkey out the oven to rest and had walked into the kitchen to find the cat gnawing on a leg. He went onto say that they cut the leg off and got on with the meal, I commented that I was sure the cat would be fine with just three legs.........

Terry Wogan always used to remind people on the 1st September each year to get their sprouts on the boil ready for Christmas Day.
Eccles that made me laugh about the cat .my mother in law asked if we were having my mum for Christmas dinner I said no we're having turkey x

I'm pleased you saw the funny side in my comment Mally. I was worried I was going to be lynched!
Nonsence! cat's legs are lovely as long as they not overcooked.
I too am pretty much perfect and well organised when it comes to Christmas prep...yeah, right!
First Christmas when we invited grumpy father in law (who wouldn't come if my parents were also invited) I left the plastic bag inside the turkey with all the bits and bobs in it, and cooked it. It tasted ok and we never did tell him.
This Christmas I shall make no errors as I'm not doing Christmas..whoopee! I shall just drink sherry (no I won't, I'll drink margaritas) and do whatever I'm told. Me and him will also do the washing up, well, that which won't fit in the dishwasher. If we're still awake and slightly sober. So probably not then ;)

The welly has been squeezed into the freezer. Just hope I can make room for tomorrow's culinary delights......

I'm quite sure a great many people have cooked a turkey with the bag of giblets left inside.

Why do I suspect little washing up is going to be going on at the hands of Ethandron????
I have a recipe for pudding that makes two, so I used to make one and put one into the bottom of the fridge for the following year, matured beautifully, except one year I took it out and found it was mouldy, something must have got into the wrapping. Have you ever tried to get a Christmas pudding on Christmas Day???
I discovered the dish of cooked sprouts at the back of the top oven 4 days after Christmas. I threw them away!
I've only just seen this. Made me laugh about the cat.

My friend (who lives in Scotland) bought a monster turkey and there wasnt room for it in the fridge. So she left it in the boot of the car. She was a bit peeved to go and get it out on Christmas Day morning to find that it had frozen due to the -12 temperature. I STILL take the pee out of her for that about 10 years later.

That one cannot be left Barmaid, I'd still be bringing it up to!
I think the pained telephone call on Christmas morning was one of the most hysterical things. I'd sent her all my best easy recipes (she is not known for her culinary abilities) and she called about 9am to say "Help". Recounted her problem and my answer was "you're ******, love, open the gin".
