Charity Wanting Gold
10 Answers
Had a bit of a clear out earlier. Found my wedding ring. Given I've been divorced 13 years and separated for longer it's just a piece of metal to me. I suspect it's only 9 ct and is of no artistic merit. Does anyone know of a charity that might welcome it?

My other half decided that the 18ct bracelet I bought her many years ago was not woth worrying about anymore. It broke on many occasions and caused her so much worry she wouldn't wear it. She lost it 3 times and still managed to find it. I knew the price of gold had gone up. So I told her to take if to the jewelers and see if it was worth a fraction of what I paid for it. She did and then phoned me to say he had offered her six ninety for it.
I said I thought it should be worth more than that as I had paid £250 for it. No she said ... six hundred and ninety pounds .. I was a bit bowled over and told her to grab the cash and run.
Before she left he offered her a little packet to collect any odd earings, broken chains or anything else that she may think was gold.
She arrived home and went through everything and gathered up all the odd bits she had kicking around.
She had enough odd earings, worn through rings and broken skinny chains to not quite fill a table spoon. Most 9ct .. the following day she came back with another £700.
Dont knock it !
