I cannot comprehend why anyone in their right mind would join such an organisation.

Just a technical point but this is Messenger, not the actual Facebook platform. Just saying like.

Oh, and it Cesspit.
It's a tool of Beelzebub himself.
He's not on my friends list Y
lol, that's what they thought about cars.
It's an extension of Facebook though. You can't message someone successfully using messenger if they are logged out of FB. And you can't message anyone from Facebook from a phone without using it.
It is an extremely useful tool: I use it all the time to contact my wife when away as she never has her phone charged :-)

snot what i said.

'not the actual Facebook platform'

see?
>>>If I wish to share information with someone I send them an email.

Oh dear.

When telephones were invented they took them to the companies who ran the telegraph system and they turned down telephones and said "if I want to contact someone I will use the telegraph system".

Technology moves on.

My daughter was in Australia for a year recently and she posted hundreds of photos of her trip on Facebook that we (her parents) could see as well as all her Facebook friends.

Try doing that with emails!

Why do you think over 2 billion people in the world have Facebook accounts.
If Tora wants Facebook banned.....

Lets also ban water as many people drown in it each year.

Lets also ban cars as people get killed and injured by them each year

Many "inventions" can be used for good or ill, you cant ban something just because a few people use it for ill.
Facebook is a useful communications tool, when used sensibly. By this, I mean people should only follow those who they know in real life. They should have their accounts locked down, and not share anything that might compromise their security.

Criticism of Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat etc can also be directed at the telephone postal mail and email...all of which have been absused beyond their original intent.
TTT

By regulating, are you talking about Facebook specifically?

When you say that this sess [sic] pit should be regulated, do you mean that messages sent between users of Facebook should be scanned? Who would be in charge of that? Facebook, the police or am as yet unnamed third party?

Do you think that encryption algorithms should be disabled on messenging apps, such as Facebook Messenger, Snapchat and WhatsApp?

If so, how do you propose that I can send a mail to my accountant, say, without peer-to-peer encryption?

Or were you thinking of some other form of regulation?
How about regulating TEA TEA TEA.
