Just listened to an episode on Radio 4 extra. The book is generally better than any film or radio presentation. Is it something special?

Brian Sibley is a Sony Award-winning writer for radio, although he prefers to concentrate on adaptations of other people's work (or documentaries), rather than producing original fiction. Anything he's associated with seems to make good radio.

There's a nuance of modernity in this that doesn't sit with what was there pre war. Didn't he run away to Dublin during the war?

If you mean the book by T. H White about king Arthur it's a nice read. Lots more than the legend people know with better developed characters.
