well
re-read the article - not very easy, lots of pop-ups about bear cubs being adopted by buffalo etc
and it said no win no fee by a firm specialising in disability cases
and yes an over riding principle seems to be that businesses shold pay attention to disability and not have to cater for absolutely everything
kinda sensible
when the bill passed parliament ( ha! ) they declined to provide a commissioner ( so what the average Aber will say)
and that means - unlike others - race, equality, sex, licensing trading standards etc
there isnt a central office you refer to
and the civil servant says o yes yes we will bring the case at our own cost....
so the lucky litigant has to bring the case herself
and every now and then it goes terribly wrong
costs in these things usually follow the doo-dah ....
( loser pays both sides - not criminal by the way)
£9k strikes me as lenient
[my union took my employer to court all the while saying nooooo you are wrong and we are right and this will cost biggo! result: employer ( nationalised of course NOT his own money) paid us £250k]
