OH has just done a G & T for us before bed. He has just picked his glass up from the coffee table and a slug appeared on his finger. We have no idea where it came from. It is about 2.5" long, quite thin but very alert.
The glasses were in a cupboard. The tonics in the fridge.
My nerves are shot, I keep looking round to see if there are any more!
I often get slugs in my bathroom which is downstairs and I just get them in some toilet paper and flush them ! A friend once opened a drawer in his kitchen and there was one snuggled in amongst his tea towels - they get everywhere ..
Much as I dislike slugs the following really made my stomach churn....
Staying with friends in Texas I went to check on my tucked up in bed ten year old....
She was sleeping with her mouth slightly open and into it was crawling a very large cockroach.... :-(
I was in a restaurant once ordering breakfast. Full English of course with a black pudding instead of tomato and mushroom.
Anyhow, even though I know what i want.. I still opened up the menu. What was in there? A slug. I reported it to the staff without making any fuss just in case they had a slug problem.
You should follow their sludge trail to find out where they came from.
To say "it's only a slug" just doesn't work with us slug-phobics. Just the thought of them gives me the shudders. I stopped taking the dog out for a late night wee in the summer because there used to be hordes of them on the pavement outside my building. The thought of any indoors is 10x worse.
