Is it just me or do other people wonder why there is the need for constant pop music?
Don't get me wrong I have nothing against music in the the right place and at the right time, but I don't inflict my choice on other people by playing it outside at a high volume.
Lovely day out there, birds singing, yet the peace is spoiled for me by a neighbour's radio.

Why do companies make us listen to Mozart and Vivaldi?
I agree with you. I love peace and quiet. I live opposite a pub whose music can be loud in the evenings, but I’ve learnt to accept it and tune it out.
I get people parking on the beach at the bottom of my garden with their radios blaring away all day, which drives me nutty. I hope their batteries get flattened!
Couldn't agree more - and I hate music in shops. I have complained in the past to M and S and have been told it's what customers want ! Actually it's stopped now so hopefully other people complained too. And can't bear music on beaches - I rarely get to the sea and just want to listen to the waves and the sound of children playing.
I hate music in restaurants. It just makes conversation difficult and everybody shouts. It's usually dreadful as well. Our local Harvester suddenly started playing very loud music and wouldn't even turn it down a bit. This went on for some time, then, on my last but one visit, it was playing quietly and on my last visit, no music at all!! It was so nice. I just hope it lasts.
