I think I'd be a nodding dog too in such a position.
She was not particularly gifted academically and before becoming an MP she was an officer for the General Municipal and Boilermakers' Union and an advisor to Ken Livingstone. She has represented two constituencies in Brent for a total of nine years. In March 2009, she came under criticism for claiming almost the full £23,000 annual second home allowance, despite her other home in Stratford being the same distance from Parliament as her Brent South home. She had claimed £2,650 for new central heating and £2,308 for a suite including a whirlpool bath.
So I suppose a woman who has no real talent or skills for anything in particular and who has been raking in wheelbarrows full of taxpayers' dosh for a decade or so, but who needs to do nothing other than nod and smile will do just that. I'd do that for £100k a year - even if it meant sitting next to Jeremy Corbyn.
