To be completely fair, the impression given on the screen can be very misleading.
For example I'm sure 'pompous, gin-soaked roué with an over inflated ego and delusions of grandeur' would be well wide of the mark for someone in real life.
15/0. To Douglas.

Danny; the locals braying & booing on the other side of the gates didn't sound very 'pleasant and pro British'.
Probably a rent-a-mob planted there in order to humiliate Boris, However, as I said, times must have changed.

I just looked to see if Luxembourg even had it's own newspaper & if so how they reported yesterday's brouhaha. The Luxemburger Wort has little to say, with just one reporter saying disdainfully he wondered why they ever bothered meeting.

They were not Luxembourg locals, they were Brits. They were chanting “Tell the truth - Stop the Coup” in British accents and their posters were all in English with “Bog Off Boris” and “*** to Brexit”. Closer inspection sees Peoples’ Vote.uk posters and website.

For the record, the Peoples Vote is a British campaign group not a Luxembourg one.

// this wasn’t the usual crowd, and theirs was a message we don’t hear enough. Most were British people whose lives could be turned upside down on day one of a no-deal Brexit. Overnight, they fear losing the rights they had as EU citizens to everything from unrestricted travel across borders (an everyday reality in a country as tiny as Luxembourg) to residency in their own homes, to healthcare. //

gromit; It's quite likely true what you say; that they were mainly British, if so they should be doubly ashamed of themselves, firstly for their own yobbish behaviour & secondly for besmirching their host-country's reputation.
Of course they were British.
Who thought they were Luxembourg locals (!)
Luxembourg doesn’t give a ****, as reflected in the newspaper coverage.
The Boris ambush was set up by David John Pike and organised, in connivance with the sham burger Bettel. Pike(don't tell em Pike) is an opera singer from Canada! How a Canadian suddenly is a British expat is beyond me but we do have Nigerian chiefs and Eskimo Nells so it shouldn't be I suppose. The other renta mob members were proud to call themselves expat Brits. Well darlings we are glad as well, glad you are not here, and gladder still if you don't come back. Please note dears the EUSSR is still there and you have found your true home. Good luck with it.

P.S with any luck you may have a few more traitors paddling across the Channel to join you.
sounds like the Lux branch of the VBQC togs!
Yep TTT. Happy to be ensconced in the bosom of the "rainbow coalition" mini state and governed by the first openly gay PM to be elected for a second term of office in the World. But, just very but( no play on words intended) they would like to reserve the "rights" to decide what we decide are our best options. Talk about a foot in both camps? Just how far can the spread their legs?
they care so much that the UK stays in the EUSSR but not enough it seems to live here!
Part of the me first brigade TTT. neatly dressed up when it suits(suits you sir) them as me too.
these are the same eejits that demand a vote in elections when they don't even deign to live here.
Employed as goffers and facilitators for the EUSSR TTT. Likely paying no tax, N.I. contributions, or council tax. They do demand, mind, NHS facilities when they require them. Eejits is too kind a word.
Happy enough for the rowdy anti-democratic protesters to be there, opts to deny taking it inside where the baying crowd wouldn't be heard, when requested, didn't call off the conference when Johnson opted not to fall into the trap but instead spoke outside indicating the empty space next to him; then after the event claiming that he did not want to humiliate' Johnson. Who the heck does he think he's fooling ?
Also, I'm sure many of us would love to Stop the Coup but the system doesn't seem to allow either government or the public to prevent the opposition and speaker taking over. There would be a lot fewer issues if they could be stopped and we could get on with Brexit without hindrance.
