I have this plant (babies' tears/Soleirolia soleirolii )rampant in my garden. Up till now it has only been in the borders and walls and I have kept it under control. But this year (maybe because of the months of rain) it has invaded the lawn, at the moment in the shade under shrubs. But I'm afraid it will cover the lawn. How can I get rid of it from the lawn? Aside from weedkiller which I don't want to use.

Yes, this can become a tiresome weed rather than a low ground cover plant.
I agree, rake or hoe it out or if its on a paved area, then a weed burner may be very useful.
