Moving The Odd Piece Down South
6 Answers
My daughter is moving into an unfurnished flat in January. I have a double mattress and a fridge freezer going spare up here in Northumberland.
Does anyone know the cheapest way to transport these down south?
I was wondering about making them a part-load on a carrier, ie taking ages to get there and thus being cheaper than a courier or hiring a van.
Any ideas would be gratefully received.

It is ordinary peeps who are going about their business and have space to spare in their car/van/transit who know they are going from/to certain places on a certain day will take your goods for you. It works by bids I think and once someone puts in a price then someone else might offer to do it for less. The more flexible you can be with your dates, the better the price. The idea is that you are helping pay their petrol costs. Hope it helps.
