Do you mean it is having to tell them it is required teacake? If it is then I agree with you. It has become a total joke now, GP's should have their salaries cut if they dont want to do the job, everyone else if having to and indeed some surgeries are coping.

Well they should never have existed. A doctors time is expensive and people who clogged the system have been a problem for decades (And yes I do know having known various GP's persanlly over the years) add to this the DNA's and you have a costly problem.
A model that should be adopted should be the triage one. Many things can be dealt with over the phone/video so deal with them that way. This would keep the numbers down, reduce surgery waiting times and reduce exposure to diseases floating around the surgery. It may also help with the DNA issue.
