I've got an Apple iPhone SE iOS13, but I don't use it as a phone (no SIM card etc), but should I still be able to download apps?...I can use Siri and Seeing AI, if you needed to know that, but apps seem to be the be all etc...Ta Muchly and Take Care.
No idea Barry. The NHS one I suppose, then there's 5live - though I don't know why anymore - and a load of others I guess. Just wondered really whether I had to be part of a phone contract or similar to be able to do other things. Many Thanks for your quick response too!
I have an android tablet and an iPad neither of which have a SIM card and I can download every app I want to on both - providing they are connected to WiFi. Everything works as I would expect. I see no reason why they shouldn't on a phone without a SIM card.
Are you absolutely sure that your phone is connected to WiFi? If you are using Siri it must be, but make sure it is when you try to install apps.
Yes Barry, the phone is connected to wi-fi and it tells me if it isn't - as well as not working as it should, which is the great giveaway!...so I'll have a wander round the apps and see what happens! Many Thanks again.
BUT!...before I can do anything at all, my sighted partner says she can't see anything on the screen. Siri can't help, doesn't seem to understand English or at least what I ask and there has also appeared, which didn't happen in an earlier version of ios, is "screen curtain on"...I am getting decidedly fed up with this and I am eyeing a nearby bin into which this blasted phone will find itself if "it" doesn't behave - can anyone out there help my sanity? Ta Muchly.
To save anyone answering the screen question - "as if we would," says Lie-in King, with a wicked grin - no need, figured it out, with the three fingered taps - "funny that," answers Lie-in King, grinning, "I've got two fingered taps in my place!"...lols everywhere!
