Hi have family coming to eat tonight (9 of us) would like to spend time with them not over a hot stove.
Took pork chops out of freezer thinking I could cook them in the oven with some type of potato dish also to be cooked in oven

Any idea please

Not sure about the chops - must admit id prefer mine done on the griddle! But you got me thinking about potatoes, one of my favourites (always well liked by others too) is slices of potatoes and onions layered in a casserole dish, seasoned well, then add milk or cream and grated cheese on the top. Baked for an hour. Yummy, i have to cook some tonight now!

Thanks BusyBee
like the sound of that- oooh I'm hungry!!

I thought about searing the chops, browning onions and garlic adding apple & cider with some grain mustard and thyme and cooking in the oven and adding cream or creme fraiche at the end- but thought others may have more exciting ideas.
will do the potato dish
I like pork chops done in the oven, I just slice an onion, put it in some tin foil, put the chops on top of the onion, fold up the foil in a parcel, stick it in a dish and cook at gas mark 5.

Thanks spudqueen- feel inspired, I could add fresh herbs, wine, oh yes the options!! must check pantry & fridge
Spudqueen if you add the potatoes on top of the onions and under the pork chops - they all cook at the same time - no mess to clean up - just add a salad and you are finished!
