I'm confused!
Wi-fi is the service you get from a router which, in turn, is connected to the internet via your broadband connection. So, although you pay for that broadband connection, you don't subscribe to wi-fi, per se.
If you've got a modern router then you've almost certainly already got a wi-fi signal coming from it, even if you're not currently making use of it.
I think that some further information (about what exactly it is that you're seeking to do) would help us here, Jennyjoan!

Your sister has two choices, Jenny.
Broadband with a router that provides WiFi, there is lots of choice.
MiFi which provides WiFi from a SIM card exactly like the one used in mobile phones. These usually have data limits, the more data used the more expensive it is. You get this from mobile phone providers such as EE. The SIM card is inside a device that provides the WiFi.

For Anne (with apologies to JJ): Yes, I've had my final radiotherapy session today, rung the big bell that they invite you to ring three times to celebrate the end of one's treatment and received a round of applause from the staff. The champagne awaits ;-)
JJ: It's still not clear what position your sister is starting from. If she's already got access to the internet via her landline, she's almost certainly already got wi-fi available in her home. If you bought her an Amazon Fire TV stick, you/she would only need to pay for any subscription services that she might want to use it with (such as Netflix, which costs £5.99 per month for the basic service).
If your sister hasn't already got a broadband phone connection, you/she would need to pay for one, which would typically cost about £20 per month. You/she would then need to add on the cost of any subscription services she might want, such as Netflix.
