Didn't coppers used to have identification numbers? Couldn't see any on the TV coverage. And are they so moronic that they think they are not caught on camera when they misbehave?

We could have borrowed the Dutch water cannons but they were already in use on their streets. I wonder what the outcry would have been if we had used cannons. The Dutch, I think, are as civilised as we like to think we are, by comparison our police were quite restrained. The simple matter is, calling this a vigil doesn't detract from the fact that this was an illegal gathering. Having had their intended silent vigil all these hundreds of women would later have to go home by themselves, I wonder who they would have called on their mobile if they thought somebody was following them?
