My wonderful niece is nearly 5 (5th august)

First year of school.

She’s learning to read. I’d like to encourage her.

Which brands and levels can I buy her so she can read aloud to her mum n dad (n kitten n dogs lol)

She doesn’t live close by so videos of her reading is what we get - id love to send her books as a gift

Ty brainiac. Yes i agree. There are entire worlds contained within the pages of books. I’d love her to have that lifelong gift

you can get reading scheme books, which teach reading by using more words and bigger sentences etc as you progress. We taught jno jnr to read with those, before he started school. He ended up with a degree in English, so they definitely worked. But parents do have to pitch in.

The Oxford Reading Tree Biff and Chip books are brilliant - they may be the reading scheme at the school. It may be a good idea to give the school a ring and ask for their advice.

Just looked at the Book Trust list and saw Oi Frog. There are a number of books in that series, my grandsons have them all and still love them. They have lots of animals and rhyming words, you can't go wrong. They are also very funny.
