cheating company
Please can any one advise me what to do regarding a company my son worked for during 6 weeks holidays.
He is only 15, and only worked for 2 days for this bloke doin labouring, when he had finished the bloke said he would pay him at the wkend but never. Phoned him last wk and was told he would pay today, he has, but for 2 full work days the b'strd only paid my son 30. I am furious. apparently he uses school age kids alot. Surely this cant be right, there must be some body or authority I can repot him to. Would really appreciate your views and advise. Thanx

The local education authority has powers to supervise the employment of school children in its area so you could also try speaking to them

The thing is, he's 15 so there's no min. wage therefore you simply haven't got a case against him. As long as he doesn't work more than 8 hours during the day and has a 1 hour break every 4 hours then he can pay him whatever he wants.
Even if there was something to report this guy to, the fact that he only worked for this guy for 2 days doesn't exactly bode too much in his favour for making a claim. Not exactly sounding like this kid was too much good at the job.
Just be glad he actually got paid as an awful lot of people wouldn't bother.
