Mark McCall says that because his team had been penalised a few times that because then they had got on the wrong side of the referee and then didn’t get decisions their way when they should have. This brings up two points. If it were Football he would be charged for bringing the game into disrepute.Secondly do referees not take decisions on each individual situation and not on previous passages of play.

I don't think referees take sides and if billy had kept quiet then he would not have kept being penalised and the fact that 3 players at one time spoke to him after he told them he would not allow it didn't help either. If he has complained about things the ref did then he will be invited to put his grievances to a panel. There were a few decisions that went the wrong way for both sides so I think they evened out in the end. Very close game though.
Don't know enough about football to answer your first question. On the second question, no, previous passages of play can and often do count towards a refereeing decision.
