Just had a phone call from DFS to say the sofas I ordered on August 1st will be delivered on 23rd, two days before Christmas! Yah.
I asked if they are going to compensate me for having to wait all this time, and they are going to refund the delivery charge of £69 so, glad I asked.

Been waiting so long, I've forgotten what they're like.
I'm waiting for Barsel's post next Thursday, where she tells us that she's sitting on her new sofa in the front garden of her house because it's too big to go through the front door ;-)
Great
what did you do about the current one and the buyer in the end?
well done Barsel - a good Christmas afternoon nap now in order?
outside - after reading Chris's contribution!
My sofa is being redelivered on Sunday and they said between 7am and 8pm. No lay in for me then and I'm exhausted with the heavy workload I've had the last two weeks :o((
I know the feeling, tigger! All the boxes and furniture loaded into the van, then moved over here to unload and unpack - and an arduous session yesterday when I took four boxes back to storage and returned with five of books and Private Eyes etc..but couldn't find a 'crucial kitchen box' of my frying pan, griddle pan, Mouli and Cuisinart wand - both with their accessories, never mind some cutlery inc. chopsticks.....but I am getting there, allowing for some late night working tonight.

bednobs There was someone interested in buying my settee but he hasn't got back after my daughter has messaged him twice, so have put it back on Marketplace and had 2 enquiries this morning.
Chris, they shouldn't have a problem as they are only 2 seaters, so if I want a lie down, I will have to go and lie on the bed DTCwordfan
Must admit, I will miss my comfy 7ft settee, but I needed a change.

Tiggs, I know how you must feel. I'm also getting rid of my long sideboard and TV cabinet and I'm still packing things out of them.
I had asked the same question in another thread Barsel so am glad it is arriving. I hope you enjoy them at last!

Thank you JJ. As you know, you decide to change 1 thing and end up changing everything!
My living room will look completely different by the time I've finished.
Yes it will - with my getting leather suite and putting fitted carpet down- I just love the carpet and it is so easy to keep clean and warm under the toes. When I go about bare feet on the carpet lovely and then when I venture into the other rooms (wooden floors) I hop about with the cold.

I know a lot of people have wooden floors but the carpet also holds the heat of the house too. Good luck with your suite.

PS Downside with leather - the cushions nor the throw for Maxie will not sit still. LOL
Barsel, did it come????
^Oh ye of little faith!
Probably sitting on the floor as I speak!!
