As far as I can see they're not wrong. What to do?

I'm using Chrome on a computer that's more than 12 years old. I think the operating system is an old version of Windows.

I was about to give up on this but before I did I tried Firefox. It worked and I've got the form I needed printed out.

If Firefox is working, but Chrome isn't, clearing Chrome's cache should help to prevent any further problems:

Yes, you're correct Etch, goodgoalie never did solve it; and as it was happening on more and more websites, he bought himself a new laptop, with which he is delighted and has had no more of the seemingly intractable problem re 'your clock is ahead'.

From what I could find out, it requires some pretty scary delving into the computer's innards to remedy this problem - something waaaay beyond anything I was able/prepared to do.

It's all a plot to make you buy new kit.
Apple have admitted slowing old iPhones down. They claimed it was for good reason, but one of the effects was people bought new iPhones.
