Is This A Warning Sign?
10 Answers
Last night around midnight I started getting what felt like toothache in my lower right jaw and I had had no teeth min my mouth for years. I was also getting pain across my chest. I was not getting short of breath nor pain in either arm, I looked up heart attack signs and wonder if this was one. I waited for awhile and went to bed. The pain had subsided by then. Any advice would be appreciated

but there might well be other causes.
However the absence of pain in your left arm and the absence of breathlessness doesn't prove that it wasn't a heart attack either. Many years ago, a teaching colleague of mine (who was a very fit PE specialist) had two heart attack before the problem was diagnosed by the hospital, resulting in her being rushed into intensive care. (She'd simply passed out, for no obvious reason, on each of two successive days. She'd experienced no pain or breathlessness).

Yes, as advised get it checked properly. A friend of mine has had three heart attacks, each time it started with a pain in his shoulder. On the third occasion when he was having it checked, he asked if it could be another attack, the doctor said don't be silly it starts with a pain in the chest. This is blatently untrue as my attack was completely painless, I just felt extremely tired.
anne......non at all...go to the GP, it is your choice and right.
However:
It may take up to a week to see your GP.....by that time the origin of your chest pain would be obvious.
Secondly......could the NHS cope a approximately of 100 patients who have chest pain only 10 would it be heart related......90% would have pain completely cardiac unrelated. (My figures, not necessarily accurate ;-))
