Why is it we can put a hearing and seeing rover on Mars, but no one has invented something that can totally get rid of grease stains on clothes?

Tradition, appearance and style, more secure than slip-ons, velcro fasteners perceived as for the older person (I have a pair of them)

we invented something to stop getting grease stains on clothes instead - aprons/smocks/overalls.

Hoppy, shoelaces are almost obsolete in Spain. Velcro has practically replaced laces here!

But learning to tie one's own shoe laces is a "rite of passage" that would be lost if velcro (horrible stuff) took over. LACES RULE!

I find that scissors will easily get rid of grease stains on clothes.
