Here's a thought ... maybe the eco fruit loops have decided that it is a perfect spot for one of their beloved windmills and the tree had to go. They have had no compunction about polluting huge swathes of the countryside or destroying our coastal marine ecoligy, over hundreds of square miles, with them.
