From my local hospital's website:

We offer exceptional care for patients at the end of their life, having recently sought accreditation for the Gold Standard Framework which seeks to identify and plan care for the patient coming towards the end of their life.

On behalf of the team who will be caring for you, we would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Russells Hall Hospital. We aim to make your stay as short and as comfortable as possible.

It sounds like they will bump you off quite quickly.

make your stay as short ....,oh dear not worded very well x

Will they stop feeding you to speed it up?

Sounds as thought you will have a hasty death.

I don't know whether to laugh or get on my high horse

I'd leave out the 'as short' bit at the end .... but maybe if i was going in for end of life care maybe i'd welcome the short bit

//We aim to make your stay as short....as possible//

Perhaps they're talking about people who are sent home for their final few days/weeks.   Could have been worded more thoughtfully though.  It actually made me laugh.  I recall sending a text to someone who was being sent home from hospital on end of life care.  I wrote 'Hope you're home soon' - but predictive text changed that to 'Hope you're dead soon'.  So pleased I noticed before I pressed 'send'.  Oops!  :o)

Ooops indeed πŸ˜€

Och, as long as you've got your health eh?

I can't see the 'short as possible' bit on their website, barry.

You seem to have conflated part of their end of life care page with their care for the elderly page:

https://www.dgft.nhs.uk/services-and-wards/c3-care-of-older-people/

Is there a specific page which actually has both parts of that paragraph written together?

Actually seems fine to me. Life is great; death, whatever it turns out to be, is inevitable; but stuck there with little quality of life just waiting... yeah a few doses of morphine should help with that.

Barry this is hilarious  I just can't stop laughing.🀣

When I say that life is great, obviously not all the time, for everyone, but you know what's meant.

Yeah. That was the only reference I found too.

Question Author

Zacs, it is a genuine copy and paste from a single web page

Question Author

How peculiar, they appear to have changed the website.

Thanks, barry. Then I think they need telling!πŸ˜‚

Maybe someone told themπŸ€”πŸ˜œ

Question Author

Oh!  No, they haven't - it's still there.
