The chap who is doing a quote has advised me .

He gave me a figure a few months back.

I requested an official quote , which he said he would do over this weekend .

He has just advised me that apparently this is so and he needs to contact his supplier and get back to me

A government source told the paper: “We have not required any increases to the price of gas boilers. Firms should not be using government policy as a fig leaf to put further costs on consumers.”

It's a rip-off anyway. Most domestic boilers cost under £1000 but they charge £2500+ just to replace one in the existing location. £1500 for a day or (max) 2 days work by one man!

"Should not..."

Aye, because this never happens.
