One  flies past my window most evenings, I have a soft spot for all owls

I love them to bits but haven't seen one since 2005 when I left the North Yorkshire Dales.  There was one that I could watch from my cottage window that used to sit on the lowest branch of a tree next to a dry stone wall watching for food to pass by.  Also heard them calling to each other in the evenings, so lovely.

We have a number of tawnies locally, hear them calling regularly especially when the females are establishing territories.
