My friend has inspired me to join a dating site - I have been browsing profiles who have 'liked' mine and one seemed a good fit for me but then at the end of his description on his profile he has put

'I have a 9 year old son who always comes first if thats a problem I am not for you. Subscription ended'

Its true that kids come first we all know that but for some reason seeing it written down on a profile seems a bit.. I don't know.

What do you think, should I say Hi to him. What he says it true with most people they just dont say it, and at least Id know where I stand : /

Sounds like the kind of guy who has set beliefs on how things should be and doesn't compromise.

Completely avoidable in other words.

Not everyone knows children come first. By sheer coincidence I saw a video earlier today regarding your partner being first, and the comments left agreed. So folk can hold different opinions. Personally I would strive for balance in everything.

But it's up to you. If stated it's likely meant, and you will always be second best. If a balance was intended, it would never have been mentioned.

Must be difficult to play second fiddle to someone young enough to be your child, throughout the years, I'd have thought. But you could always test the waters, it's only a speculative date at this stage.

For him to get custody his ex partner must have been pretty grim and you wouldnt want the lad going back to her. The first thing you need to verify is that he really is his picture so suggest a brief Skype to see if his face matches the pictures.
