Why Is Rac Charging Me A Cancellation Fee?

I scrapped my old car yesterday and when I tried to cancel my monthly payments for breakdown cover with the RAC, they said I'd have to pay a £99 cancellation fee!  They said because I've had two call outs hence the reason.  My cover with them started in June this year.  Are they right?  I said I would seek advice first because 'it doesn't sound right'.  I haven't cancelled my monthly DD as yet.

Don't cancel, ask them to suspend it until your 'free' AA deal expires, which will happen, then restart RAC for your new car.

Sorry, I'd assumed it was a deliberately  non-committal response for some reason. If you just meant yes, it'd have been quicker ( and clearer) to type 'yes' than 'uh huh'.

Problem is uh huh can mean yes, no, don't know, don't care or don't understand depending on the inflection and tone.

Written down without other words does not convey any meaning.
