(maybe thats just me but buying new stationary cheers me up, lol).

Hi unnamed! You could try some beta blockers, if you feel that your nerves are overwhelming you. I got these when I had to retake my driving test, as the first one went so badly. Although I still felt nervous, they took away that gut wrenching fear.
Your doctor should be able to prescribe them for you. Hopefully it will be only first day nerves and then the excitement of the new college will take over!
I am certain that it is only normal to feel some nerves as it is something completely new and different. Therefore you should probably worry more if you were not feeling nervous! All the best and good luck with your course.

Why don't you try something relaxing like Yoga or meditation - Yoga is great for teaching you how to control your breathing and focusing your mind. meditation is great for getting your fears and illogical worries under control, both will calm you and make it easier for you to cope with these changes.. There is also a brilliant book called "Feel the Fear and do it Anyway" by Susan Jeffers. And no disrespect to Sue, but please stay away from Drugs they will not help. Also try to avoid stimulants like tea, coffee, coke, chocolate and alcohol which will all add to the nervy feelings. Lots of Love - Amara xx
Im a nervy person too and when i get nervous, I get the worst pain in my stomach that sometimes I can't even think straight. Especially when something big is coming up. what I usually do is think of all the positive things instead of the negative. And if that doesn't work, take deep breathes several times until you are able to settle your nerves.
