How does one remove a BMW bonnet badge. I need to replace a vandalised one on my car but there are no fixings inside the bonnet to "undo" to remove the old one. Perhaps they clip into place in hidden fixings, but how the hell does one remove the old one?
Thanx

The boot ones (E36, anyway) just have two prongs that push into two little rubber grommets: there's no secure fixing as such, so the bonnet may be the same, or just stuck on. If it's been damaged anyway you have nothing to lose by just sliding a paint scraper under it.

Thanx Mr Rusty, mine is E39 but I think they are all pretty much the same. Will give the gentle persuasion method with a thin bladed tool of some kind.!
The bonnet and boot one are fixed in the same manner.
slide a peice of paper or a cloth in when using the tool so you dont scratch the paint.
