I have no idea if you're entitled to sick pay, your contract would have stated that wouldn't it?
The reference? well..... imho, you've stayed in a job less than a month practicaly, so if you do apply for a new job and they require a reference from your old employer, I would have thought the fact you only stayed for a month would raise more questions than a day off sick.
I hope you feel better soon :-) and best of luck in your next job...... x

I cant see them giving you a bad reference by law they have to be very careful what they say with references.
Some companys wont give a references because of this with you only being there for less 4 weeks i dont think any body would want a referance from the company.
If your entitled to sick pay take it all
