What is up with them. They just seem intent on:
Being intimidating
Drinking on the streets shouting
Throwing stuff at you or your property
Starting fights with you when you comfront them
Starting fights with you for no reason.
Smashing up your town
Grafing
Setting fires
Littering.
Think of anymore?
What can be done?

In certain areas there probably are people like that but not everbody is. If you have a problem in your area i suggest you phone the police or set up cctv.
Im not a youth but live with two youths, who happen to be my 16 year old son, and 14 tyear old daughter, who indeed do neither of the above. And i ve got to be honest out of all of their friends, i wouldnt of thought that any of them do it either.I do wish for the younger people readin your post you wouldve stated "some" youths as ithink its a shame that older people have to tar all youth with the same brush

im 17, i live with my parents. And i was talking from the perspective of my parents to do with cctv. 'MissyR' property is someones belongings, doesn't have to mean a house. e.g. my car. Had stones thrown at.
also being a youth i know the vast majority of people +/- 3 years of my age and i think i know it happens. Maybe not in your towns, so if you want to pick faults with the question dont answer. Cheers to the others

There are some bad apples. Their bad behavior makes them idols to some. I have no idea what to do, I like the concept of chav island, round up anyone outside of a Mcdonalds at 3pm, drug them and transport them to a King kong type island.
Then we charge big business men 30k a day to hunt them and pump the profits into regeneration of urban areas to ensure the next generation take a different path.
Everyones happy.

I have become more nervous in the last year or so. My office in Nottinghill has been broken into 5 times in less than 6 months. On each occasion it was teenagers. We now have metal grills on the windows, all internal doors are heavy steel & a heavy metal shutter at the main door!
I recently asked a young boy (approx 15) on the bus to take his feet off the seat please so I could sit down (I'm 62) and he lifted his foot and put it into my face!

Toleman posted a very valid question, he did not say 'all' youths, we have all been there once, but NEARLY all the bad behavior on the streets and neighbourhoods is caused by the younger generation. I have not seen gangs of OAPs on the street corner where I live. I Have two youths of my own who have lots of friends and they are all good 'kids' but they know (and often talk about) the trouble makers in our locality, and they are all 'youths of today'.

to be fair you can get drunken adults that do exactly the same thing .. and surely they are the ones that are setting the example on youth of today?!it may be that at a younger age you are more influenced by what happens and are more likely to copy and so more youths are acting like this than years ago .. so surely there should be better examples set?? i think its a bit unfair to label the youths with all these problems!do you not agree?
