infra red lamps

my local lidl supermarket is selling some infra red lamps with a 150watt Phillips infra red bulb fitted does anyone think that it would be benificial to ease an aching old back ?

These were very popular many years ago and lots of people swore by them.

Whether it will help you, I don't know. I think if it is fairly cheap and you can afford to 'lose' the money if it doesn't work, it must be worth a go. Backache is a misery.
