Do you mean you wish your setup to be this?

SKY+ → rgb →

DVD-R → rgb →

Would not the standard setup suffice?

SKY+ → rgb → DVD-R → rgb → TV

Hi kempie at the moment i've got it sky+ rgb to tv and sky+ non rgb to dvd and dvd to tv hdmi......so i don't know if i set it up

SKY+ → rgb → DVD-R → rgb → TV

Would i have to have my dvdr on to view tv in rgb mode.....
I don't know (but I suspect not) whether RGB via SCART allows passthrough i.e. if the DVD-R needs to be on for the signal to pass through it.

Try it and see.

Can any scart lead carry rgb signal or do you have to buy special ones.
All SCART leads that have the full 21 pins can transmit RGB (some cheap leads only have 10 pins connected - the remaining pins are either present and unwired or there are gaps where the pins should be).

There may be an argument for the use of gold-plated SCART for best quality of transmission but I believe this is only true if the socket is also gold-plated.
