My soon to be ex-husband has started a relationship with a woman of 3 children. She has a boy age 12, boy age 9 and a girl age 6 and lives in a 3 bedroomed house. Does anybody know what rights I have as to my childrens sleeping arrangements when they go to visit his girlfriend when he has the children every other weekend?? As she only has 3 bedrooms and the boys already share then my children wouldnt have a bed of their own etc .... is this acceptable? Any advice would be much appreciated!!!!

First of all, how many children have you got and what are their ages? Also, are they boys or girls?
As Psychick says, this could depend on all the children's ages and sex.
All those of the same sex could share a room with bunks, but I wouldnt've thought it'd be illegal for children to have sleeping bags, or sleep on settees, etc.
I can understand you wanting them to have their own rooms and beds but unfortunately, it isnt always possible when there are step children involved. Im sure you wouldnt expect your children to have to give up their own beds if you had someone elses children stay with at the weekends. So you cant really expect your ex's step children to give up theirs. I know it must be hard as you wont want your children having to make do and want them to have their own rooms.
Also, if all the children are of similar ages and get along well, they may find sharing a room this way fun. I have found kids love having an excuse to sleep in a camp bed or put-you-up bed. Have you talked it over with your children?

Thanks for your answers/advice so far. My children are a boy age 13 and a girl age 11 so both of mine are coming into teenage .... not something i'm relishing obviously!! This would mean that the boys "sharing" would be 13, 12 and 9 and the girls would be 11 and 6. My 2 arent partcularly comfortable with their dads new girlfriend as it is as they still havent come to terms with their dad leaving us 18 months ago. I found out yesterday from my daughter that in fact at their dads girlfriends house the middle boy (age 9) and the girl (age 6) actually share the bigger room and the older boy age 12 has the box room. I am just stabbing in the dark at the moment in anticipation of my ex moving in with her but it may not happen!!
They will either enjoy having other children to mix woth or hate it. Only time will tell and all children are different, My husband has 3 children and i have 3 children, my eldest and his youngest are the same age and get on like a house on fire, both now 14, infact they get on better than brothers! We have only just got him a fold up bed up to now, they've had to top and tail when he's stayed over, they prefared that to the sofa.
