rats

hi everyone. When i was in china last year we had rats in the hotel. Anyway i got back to room one day and there was half a rats leg in the trap. The rat had obviously gnawed its own leg off to get away. Is this normal?

maybe it hadnt actually knawd its own leg of but the chef in the hotel restaurant realised he had ran out if chicken for the sweet and sour???!!!

They will. I don't like wild rats, but the thought of one being in such pain from a trap makes me go cold.
