 Wouldn't it be better to have a 'Thank You' box to click where the questioner could simply acknowledge the answer instead of rating it.   That way, the person who'd replied would know that their answer had been read.

(Apologies if this has already been suggested)

Hi smudge - thanks for the support!

Personally, I think 'thank you' is a good all rounder. It's nice to gain merit stars, but I think that should be left to the classroom! However, it is nice when answers are in some way acknowleged. :0)

AB Ed - why did you ban my correction of *acknowledged? I missed out a 'd' & wanted to show the correction. If you really must ban users corrections, wouldn't it be better to have an edit facility? After all, people have been asking for this for ages.
