locked mouse

please, I'm desperate. somehow my daughter has locked my computer mouse. can anyone tell me how to unlock it!

a few more details pls
is it cordless or wired etc
what do u mean by locked?do u mean it does nothing?
it possibly could be that the plug has come out of pc if its wired
or the drivers could be corrupted and need reinstalling if its cordless etc
too many possibilities until know some more of what u mean by locked and make etc
but whatever its still easy to fix

thanks cleggie. It is a wired mouse, (a Targus), and it operates the curser ok, the wheel works the scroller, but the left/right clickers have no give, as if they are locked. the interior light of the mouse is working as well so the connection is ok. would be grateful for some help.
