I have just bought myself a HP all in one printer, problem is I cant get the scanner to work on its own, I can copy a letter or pic using the scanner but if I want to scan a picture or letter to save to my pc it wont do anything. Ive got windows xp and the printer is connected by usb. Any suggestions please. Thanx.

Have you installed the HP Solution Centre from the CD?

Yep, done all that and still nothing from the scanner, apart from , if I copy,it works fine

open HP solution centre and there are three options.1)scan picture.2) scan document and 3)make copies. Insert your picture into HP 2280 and then press scan picture. It should scan your picture and then ask where you want to instal it on your computer
