How much would one expect to pay for one of these animals and which sex to get. Not breeding them no no

Don't go for anything cheaper - you will be buying a lot of problems and will probably pay more in vet bills.
They are very cute BUT need daily grooming and they are very intelligent little dogs who need to be trained and occupied.
Always make sure that you see the mother of the pups and make sure that they are all clean and happy.

Good advice from kita, also remember that they are non moulting so will need to be taken to a professional groomer every six - eight weeks to be clipped unless you are willing/able to learn to do it yourself, and that can cost anything from 25 - 60 pounds a time. Clippers can cost
about 50 - 100 pounds plus sharpening, oil, brushes etc.
