I am going to New Zealand end of the year and would like to know if anyone can advise me which route to take. I was thinking of Singapore airlines but there are so many different routes. Has anyone been who could tell me which route they thought was best. Thanks.

By going via USA you'll find when you get there you don't suffer from jet lag (or if you do not as badly as going the other way round) and come back via Asia for the same reason.
you can do as coccinelle says on Air NZ, which is the only airline that goes right round the world. NB that December is high season - that is high-price season. A bit cheaper if you can wait till after Christmas.

Trailfinders are good at this sort of thing.
Agree with Coccinelle. We went to NZ last November via Singapore on Singapore Airlines (stopped off for 3 days) and then went on to Brisbane for two weeks. Then we went to NZ on New Zealand Airlines for two weeks before going to San Francisco on NZA. Came back to UK on Virgin! Would never go this way again as the jet lag was horrendous when we got home! Would come back via Hong Kong next time. Booked through Trailfinders who were brilliant as we gave start and finish dates and they helped with the itinerary. Best to go to shop and actually talk face to face. Have a good trip
I went to Las Vegas for 4 days with Virgin, Los Angeles with United, then to Auckland with Air NZ. Then Sydney and Melbourne (Air NZ and Virgin Blue). We then went to Singapore and then Dubai with Singapore Airlines before coming home with Virgin. We got a Grand Escapade ticket through Flightcentre which give good flexibility with the various companies who are codeshare partners. No jetlag going this way round and you get double the luggage allowance on the planes. Singapore Airlines are superb.
We did the opposite of cherry and stayed in San Fran for 2 nights before flying to Auckland. Coming back we flew to Singapore for 2 nights. Much better we thought.

It's also worth bearing in mind that if you go via the US, you tend to get more baggage allowance...
