Are these contractions??

Hi, Im 39+2 and yesterday evening I started with low pains every half an hour or so. I kept waking up last night for the bathroom (as usual) but this time it felt like I was really desperate but nothing there. Now this morning I keep getting a feeling of huge pressure as though I want to go to the toilet again. Itsmore uncomfortable at the minute than painful. This is my first so not sure what to expect. Not had a show or anything. Thanks

phone your maternity unit. It sounds like the start !!

Probably. With my 3rd child I was getting these every 10 mins for about a week before I went into labour. Just don't venture to far from home now...good luck x

when you say you feel like you need the loo, do you mean a wee or the other? If the other then it sounds like contractions.
as the others say, call midwife or maternity ward for advice.
