Anybody heard of that the government is doing away with the above completely. A friend was here in my house last night and said they are (government) are going to give you a lower dose then lower and lower until none at all.
I haven't heard this - this might be a plan for an individual patient, to try to wean them off reliance on sleeping pills, but I haven't heard anything to say they could plan to do away with altogether. I don't see how they could!
Sorry Connemmara, yes I meant the governments drivel, was a poor attempt at wit.
There has been a long campaign to reduce the amount of certain drugs being prescribed but can see no way they could apply a blanket ban on all sleeping meds. Could you imagine how noisy hospitals would be at night for a start, its highly unlikely to be brought into force. Having said all that we should all try only to take and ask for the meds we really need, as I`m sure you do.
perhaps it's 1 type of sleeping tablet? For example, doctors are no longer allowed to prescribe co-proxamol in england (a type of painkiller) even if the prescriber thinks it's exactly the right thing for the patient, they cant prescribe it
Yes the silver effervescent co-codamol have been scrapped here in Ireland - very much so - that is why I worried that if they could that then they are capable of scrapping sleeping pills. But I am reassured with all your answers. Thanks
