I just wondered - I think I would feel the need to buy the baby a present when it arrived as it will be a specific person with a name then (rather than a non-specific 'baby' - if you see what I mean).
A baby shower is a very american thing. When I had mine people came to visit when the baby was born and they bought little gifts, like baby gro's and tedddy bears
I bet somewhere like Clinton's does baby shower cards. I am funny about buying gifts before the baby arrives, it's one thing to buy impersonal things like cot blankets beforehand but the real baby gifts wait til the little 'un is here.

you can get expectant mum cards. i know a lady that has made a baby shower cake out of rolled up terry towelling nappies, a tiered one with gifts wrapped in the cake and everything decorated like a wedding cake in lilac ribbons and bows, not an edible cake u understand!#
