why is it that when i make a payment over the phone or request an engineer for something i have to give all my details to an automated thing then when i do get to speak to a human i get asked all the questions again? whats the point in the automated thing first???? except for the cost that is.

When you phone them they ask you to give your telephone number using the key pad, then when you finally get through after pressing 1,,2,3 2 4, then another choice of 1,2,3,4 they ask for your name, address, postal code, then ask for your password.
